    window size. That is a misconception. Most people don't use their basement windows for letting in light so here is an idea: Put up decorative rods that are mounted to be about at least a foot on either side of the actual window and buy drapes to cover from rod to about an inch or 2 above the floor. This gives the illusion that the windows are very large and no longer feels like a basement. Unless you have nosy people that look behind your curtains no one will ever know the windows are itty-bitty. I applied dark tint to my window in the basement to not allow the natural light to give away my secret by showing a small light square through the drapes.. :)
