Design & Décor: Anyone have access to about 8 square ft of old oak flooring?

I have a hole where a furnace used to be and I want to make it into a trap door. Also need to find brass or steel molding/frame pieces to hold the trap door. Any ideas or sources??

Definitely DO NOT buy the Tractaway brand sold at Home Depot. I purchased this door and have ...»
had nothing but problems with it. I've been told by HD reps that the quit providing installation and have had many returns. The installation must be extremely precise and is very difficult, thus causing problems when opening and closing. We still don't have it right and 6 people have looked at it. Hope this helps.

I purchased the "Tractaway" retractable screen door because I didn't want to obscure my red ...»
door (lol) and have regretted it ever since. The door is beautiful in it's own right however it is a devil to install. We still haven't gotten it right. We even concluded that we should have someone install it and when calling the number on the manual found that it was disconnect. The next call went to Home Depot to inquire about their team installing it and was told that they do not do that. Recently, I visited Home Depot (for other items) and was talking with a salesman about this door and he indicated that the original installed try installing a door and found it so difficult that he removed his name for their list. Another instance, a Home Depot store in the next town said they had about 40 in stock but they were all returns.

Anyway... I'd like to return this door and purchase an easier to install model but found that we threw out the box. In the event Home Depot won't take it back does anyone know a "tried & true" technique to effective installation?

Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.
