  • This is the Menard's work bench kit that became my potting bench with my watering can collection.
  • The watering can on the far right is a European design.
  • My hanging baskets are planted in galvanized pails. I have put holes in the bottoms.
  • On the far right side of the potting bench are my vintage water pumps, an old metal gas can and vintage gas nozzle.
  • The whiskey barrels next to the pumps are planted with verbena, brachome, ponytail grass, alyssum, bacopa and petunias. A vintage mop bucket is situated in the center of the oak barrel for a double decker planting.
  • Right side of potting bench.
  • A sign painted by a friend and local merchant hangs over my potting bench.
  • Left side of the potting bench has another barrel with mop bucket, watering can, and chicken feeder.

My Potting Bench, Watering Can Collection & Pumps

About 15 years ago I wanted a potting bench, but they were pretty expensive, too expensive with three kids at home. I saw a work bench kit in a Menard's flyer for $39. I talked my ...»
husband into putting it together for me, and I stained it. It was pine and the boards were seconds but I thought it was perfect and rustic. It has become a focal point of my outdoor decorating.

China Closet from Repurposed Cabinets

From damaged to dazzling! My husband got these cabinets from a partially burned down home. We decided to change our utility room into a china closet. The base cabinet was a long ...»
cabinet that he cut to fit. The two cabinets above that was a long wall cabinet that was cut down. He used small trim to cover the seams. The tall shelf cabinet was used as it. He added an enclosed shelf up top. He took a cabinet door and installed it sideways. The smaller wood panels were from another job he did. He used them to enclose the corner which houses the hot water heater. I love my china closet. To see more of the transformation, go to my blog at http://awalkinthecountryside.blogspot.com/20...

  • For my garden. Always wanted a glider. I had thought to either paint or stain it but I think I will leave it natural. After all don't we all try to get the worn aged look :). Reward for taking out the garbage this morning

How to hang clay pots

I think this would work well whether hanging on a fence, deck or even a tree similar to the one pinned on Hometalk Garden Board on Pinterest! (dead tree) You can do a search for clay pot hangers and come up with numerous places to purchase.

Sometimes a treasure needs restored and not just transformed.

This school desk with a 1910 patent date was calling out to be returned to its former glory. All it took was some time to take it all apart, strip the yellow paint, and add a finish to the beautiful wood. Then it was reassembled so that the desk could tilt and raise up and down. What a charmer for some child's room!!

Crafts: Homemade Pill Organizer

Can any of you crafty people out there think of a way to make a non-toxic and nice looking pill box holder? I need something with compartments large enough to put all my big vitamins and ...»
suppliments in for daily use for 7 days. I do not want any of those plastic weekly pill holders, but something that will look nice sitting out and again is non-toxic and has a lid. I look forward to your ideas!

Refinishing Furniture with Chalk Paint

I re-did a chair an a Antique Smokers Stand with what else... chalk paint. The colors I used were Mushroom Bisque, Chocolate Swirl and Garden Promenade. ...»

If you are following me you will see I pretty much did this technique and colors throughout my weekend frenzy. I recovered the seat with a cloth napkin that I purchased from Marshals. For more on this you can go HERE http://www.onemoretimeevents.com/2012/07/cha...
