WooHoo I sold my first piece of painted furniture.

Today I sold my first piece, a coffee table that I bought off Craigs List for $10 , yes only $10. I painted it with DIY white chalk paint, distressed it a little and gave the top 2 coats of stain with poly.

I was fortunate to bring home about 75 antique windows. The challenge was coming up with projects for them, but here are a few!

  • Love this old piano bench but wanted to make it a statement piece.
  • I used old wooden knobs and created my own look
  • I got a graphic from The Graphic Fairy and hand painted the top. Then distressed it
  • Totally transformed the piece! 2

French Piano Bench

A one of a kind project I actually did back in 2011. I took an old piano bench and transformed it. I created embellishments and painted a graphic on top. A popular project!

Decoupage Desk Project

This desk was black when I bought it for $35. It was too dark so I painted it white, then I painted it "Tortilla" by Martha Stewart Living. Never really liked it and was about to toss it. ...»
Giving it one more try, I painted it Old Ochre by Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and decoupaged the drawer fronts and part of the desktop. It's now my fave piece of furniture in the house. I realize decoupage furniture isn't for everyone, but hubby and I love it. See more of this project at my blog. #Bestof2012
