Floral Art

I like to 'group' my art . I have a collection of birds and a collection of floral art. Some of the paintings were painted by me, and the rest were gathered elsewhere.

Styling Shelves

Bookcase styling is actually quite easy. Mix it up with a variety - I prefer Books, Art, Something Earthy, Something Shiny, and Framed Photos. Place them in groups and then place the ...»
groups DIAGONALLY from each other. AND..... Don't Junk it Up! Leave some space!

  • Just a little chalk and we are cozy warm. sort of.

My Faux Fireplace Fire

We had a black piece of plywood over our firebox when we moved into our 1850's home 12 years ago, and it is still there! So I decided to decorate it a bit. Until the chimney/fireplace repair money is saved up! Chalk will work for now.

  • Chandelier candle covers for my outdated chandy
  • my ugly chandelier sticks, before photo.

Chandelier Candle Covers

This project took about 10 minutes and was free (I already owned the color printer, two pages of cardstock, and tape) I just printed the pattern I liked and cut and fit onto my ...»
candlesticks of my chandelier. I made sure the paper does not touch the bulb and does not extend above the height of the candlestick. I dont' want a fire hazard!

  • Our living room fireplace with 1970's bathroom tile.
  • Our revamped fire place surround. Mortar. Straight out of the bag and mixed with water.

Fireplace Surround Revamp BEFORE AFTER

Our 1850's home has four fireplaces. One fireplace was covered in 1970's square bathroom tile. And it was ugly. We removed the tile that we could (which was NOT easy!) and then covered the existing tile and base with mortar.

Design & Décor: I need to add something... WHAT?

I need to add something above this bed, but NOT a mirror. Any suggestions.

The room is a neutral guest room ~ nothing too personal.
