Setting the Garden with Plate Flowers

These plate flowers are easy to make and add a lovely touch to my garden. Because they're made of thrifted items they're inexpensive, and every one is unique. http://www.thriftyrebel.com

Fall Decor: Glass Globe Pumpkins

Yes, those ARE Pumpkins made from glass ceiling light globes! It's a great way to #Recycle! ...»

I've been making these for a few years now, and I have never seen them made by anyone else! I use vintage glass globes that I find in thrift shops and garage sales, and new globes that I pick up cheaply at the hardware store. (Though the new ones aren't as detailed or charming as the old ones, they still work as 'filler' pumpkins in an arrangement!) The simple addition of a stem (real or faux) is all it takes to create a harvest of Glass Globe Pumpkins!

On the HOMEWARDfound blog, I am sharing a 'Fast, Cheap & Easy' (TM) tutorial for creating these... please visit!

  • Each "succulent" was dyed with fabric dye. I kept them in the dye at varying lengths of time to get different depths of color for each flower.

Faux "Succulent Garden" Made With Pistachio Shells

I love the look of vertical succulent gardens, but I have the very opposite of a green thumb, and purchasing that many succulents only to have them die would be quite costly. (Yes, I can ...»
actually kill succulents.) So I crafted my very own succulent garden out of pistachio shells. I'm pretty sure I can't kill this one. :)

Giving a standard bathroom cabinet a furniture look.

With home values continuing to head in the wrong direction, I didn't want to spend money on a new vanity. Giving our standard vanity a furniture look seemed like a good compromise. I painted the toe kick black to give the illusion of space underneath. Added legs and designed and cut pieces to go between the legs. I like a french country look, but for a modern look, you could simplify the design. http://plumdoodles.com/2012/04/16/giving-a-s...

Headboard/Footboard turned Bench

I picked up this headboard & footboard at Goodwill for $3.99!!

And now it's a beautiful accent in my garden. The bright yellow really stands out. I'm so happy with the way it came together!
