Want to know what to do with an old window and some fence boards?

#BeforeandAfter #Repurposing ...»

First, you take some old discarded windows from a job site and distress, paint and distress some more to achieve the desired look. Then you get a family photo enlarged as an engineering print to fit the chosen window. Use cardstock and the Cricut to produce a long held family motto. Take some old fence boards and make a farmhouse looking shutter and put it all together! "Family is forever" is front and center in our kitchen to remind us everyday of what is truly important!

  • These mini oranges are popular in the Midwest this time of year. They are really sweet.

Chair makeover

Last weekend I stopped by Construction Junction with my husband and dad. For my readers outside of Pittsburgh, it's a place that recycles building materials and items like wood furniture, lights, and really whatever home-related items they acquire. They have a warehouse full of items you can purchase at great prices. While I was there, I found an old, danish style dining chair that I thought would make a nice chair for my desk in our living room. As you can see above, it was missing a ...»
seat and was scratched up and worn-looking. I decided I'd give a chair makeover a try. The chair was only $3!
