You are approaching a very good time for planting trees and shrubs in your area, EG. ...»
Temperatures have moderated, rain is more regular, and the soil will still be warm, encouraging healthy root development, for a long time. Before you do anything, you should have your soil tested by the University of Georgia's Agricultural and Environmental Services. This will tell you the pH of your soil, which will affect plant selections, and what type of amendments you need. For a comprehensive guide to soil preparation and planting, see this article from the University of Georgia, which includes a link to the soil test:

Outdoor Living: We are building a pergola. It doesn't have a solid roof. Is there a way to have an overhead light or fan?

Royce is the company that we used for our outdoor pergola( which does not have a solid roof) ...»
chandalier. It has closed globes and is rated for wet. We ordered from Menards. Our fans which were wet rated we purchased from Home Depot. Be careful to purchase only "wet" not damp rated fixtures. We love the look. There is definatley not a large enough selection in my opinion of "Wet" outdoor fixtures. All of the pieces we're what we considered affordable and in most consumers budgets. Love Love Love how it turned out. We are still in the process of finishing our gardening spaces tomorrow we are planting 60 hostas. Will post more pictures.

Most of the manufacturers have excellent websites with a searchable database...put in specific ...»
requests to narrow your search...ie bottom freezer or counter depth. Good Luck

Outdoor Living: We live in NE Georgia.

I want to build a pergola for our deck and have vine grow up all four supports. I want it to be hardy, flowers but low maintenance. What should I plant?

My best guess is 5 hours. I'm sorry I didn't tell you this in the first place.
