    recommended SHGC for Florida is 0.4 or lesser. The lower the Solar heat gain coefficient the lesser hear is transmitted into your home. In addition to replacing windows with less SHGC install exterior awnings if suitable, honeycomb blinds on the inside and window treatments will also help.
