Drawer Finds a New Life as a Storage Ottoman

Have you ever had an old drawer lying around and didn't know what to do with it? After transforming a dresser into a media stand, that's exactly what happened to me. Inspiration finally hit, and I turned my old drawer into something useful...a storage ottoman.
Let me share with you just how easy it was to make the transformation! I needed something to prop my feet up on when relaxing in the seating area of my bedroom.
I began searching the house for ideas when I ran across this extra drawer left over from my dresser turned media stand project. It needed a new home, and I instantly imagined a comfy ottoman made from this drawer.
My husband measured and cut me a piece of plywood for the top. I used an extra pillow I had around the house and some really cool fabric I found at Joann's Fabrics to upholster the top.
My husband used hinges to attach one side of the top to the drawer and voila- open and close for instant storage!
I knew I needed some extra height to my drawer, and I love casters, so I picked up a set at Lowe's.
All that was left was to spray paint the handles and reattach them, and then I had my new drawer storage ottoman.

Wellll ... I just took the fronts off 5 drawers and threw away all but the fronts. Shoot!! Had salvaged them thinking I would make planters but two were warped pretty bad. Water damage, so didnt think they would hold up under the weight of planter pots and I needed room in my shed. Ñext time ...
