Fizzy Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Check out this fizzy toilet bowl cleaner that will get your toilet bowl clean with no toxic chemicals. Make this DIY toilet bowl cleaner today.
There are many cleaners intended to make your toilet bowl sparkling clean but not all of them are septic safe or earth-friendly.
You can make this simple cleaning recipe with just a few basic ingredients that you probably already have at home.
I know that chlorine bleach is a popular toilet bowl cleaner. However, it is not good for the environment and is harmful to marine life when it makes its way back to the water.
This homemade cleaning recipe is eco-friendly and affordable.
- 1 cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
- 1/4 cup citric acid
- 1/4 cup salt
- 10 drops of essential oils (skip for fragrance-free)
1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
2. Store in an airtight container like a Mason jar.
3. To use, quickly shake the powder around the toilet bowl and on the water surface and scrub with a toilet brush.
This biodegradable powder works hard to clean your toilet bowl. If you have hard water stains, this powder may not remove them all. But, it will leave behind a fundamentally clean toilet.
Why not learn how to make your own diffuser blends next?

You can, yes but be aware that they use artificial fragrances in their products and not essential oils. These are concerning to some people.

You can certainly use a scoop or a shaker jar.

Go to a thrift store and get one for a quarter and designate it for toilets only; use a plastic medicine cup from top of anything liquid; at thrift stores there will be a bucket full of all kinds of coffee scoops.. they are always very cheap.. nickel or dime. Giving my age here... but over the years we have collected a lot of coffee scoops because every can of coffee had one inside! We use them for so many things!! When I make up hot spiced tea in winter... drop one in the top of jar ... have one in large bag baking soda, etc etc etc
