Repurpose Chip Containers to Organize Media Device Cords!

A while back someone on Hometalk asked how they could repurpose Pringles containers. After my last post about repurposing tea boxes to organize media cords and a kid who loves Pringles, I came up with an idea!
Although my the tea box organizational units have been working well, I wanted to tweak my idea to improve it!
First, I cut the middle of the can out. Don't cut too large of a piece or this idea will not work. Cut 2 lines from end to end about 4 inches apart from each other. You want to maintain the cylinders shape.
This was too small, but that's o.k. Now, with scissors trim the sides to even the opening up. I had to trim more off the bottom right side because I didn't cut it straight.
See, now it's looking like it should. Notice how the container still has a circular shape to it.
In using the cylinder shape container, now the cords are held in place by themselves! I don't have to tie them and they DO NOT unravel! O.k. SO IT"S NOT THAT PRETTY, but it's totally functional. If you have time (which I do not) you could easily paint the can or cover it with a pretty paper!
It's inside my drawer and plays a functional role! You can add more if needed. It stores A LOT of cords. They don't tangle and they are easy to locate.
Here it is! The repurposed Pringles container to store your media cords!
Hope you try it out. It's simple to do and really works. You can use it when you travel! I really hope you visit me at Lincluden Cottage Life! I am a newbie blogger who would love for you to join me! ;) Rebeca
