Being patriotic never goes out of style and is there anything better than displaying the American flag? I’m gonna show you how to make a unique flag that’s perfect Summer decor!

Here it is, and with a few supplies you can make this in under an hour! Hang It on a wall, prop it up I’m on a console or even hang it on a door for an eclectic look!

I used an old book I got at a yard sale, I liked the look of the yellowed pages, but you can use any book, new or old for this project. Start by ripping out enough pages to cover the picture area of your frame.

The frame I used was also a yard sale find but again, any frame will work, any style, modern or vintage, this is what will make your project your own and unique! Arrange the pages on the picture area of the frame and tape them down on the underside.

Mark off the canton (blue area) and freehand or trace stars, I did not do 50, nor did I do all the stripes but I don’t think it takes away from the patriotic look.

After you’ve made your stars, color in the negative area (the area around the stars) with the blue pencil. If you want to try a different look, use a crayon or water colors!

After the canton is done, freehand or trace the stripes in red pencil.

And that’s it, super easy and unique, as a matter of fact I’ve never seen one like this in a store. I hope you like this and if you make one I’d love to see it and how you displayed it in your home!
