My Hubs 50th Birthday Party!

So let me fill you in on what’s going on at the Cottage. My hubs is turning 50 in August.
Yep the big 5 0 for the big guy! He’s a special guy so I’m planning a big Party for him.
Here’s the plan so far. We’re doing a Hawaiian Theme backyard party, everyone dressing casual in Hawaiian themed clothes …………… Maybe something like this with lots of bright colors. Source www.PartyCity.com.

….with family, friends and kids, swimming for those that want to…….. and
Yep the big 5 0 for the big guy! He’s a special guy so I’m planning a big Party for him. (This picture is from one of our first dates way back).

I mean he puts up with all my shenanigans and crazy ideas.
Like the time I talked him into dressing up for an 80′s Party and got him to wear a wig.
Or…..the time I got him to dress up like Adult Twister for Halloween.
Anyway, I LOVE him and want to celebrate his BIG Birthday.

He knows about the party and said he really wants something casual at our house with family and friends. So we’re gonna have it in our back yard …………….
……………and the kids can swim in the pool.
Anna’s Taco Truck (it’s so delish) and already booked.
and he wants a Steelers Cake (so we’ll have to do something creative like this one). Cake Source – Pinterest
Ok so it’s a little mixed theme going on here …………and I will find a way to tie it all together.

So of course when there’s a party or big event it gives you a lot of motivation to fix up your house and yard and work on all those projects on the list.

Our friends found us a wood bar at a yard sale for $50 last year so I want to fix that up and make it into a Tiki Style Bar like this one.
And I want to hang lots of pretty lights and have great lighting at night like this…………from www.Smithandassociates.com.

Lots more details on the blog, please come on over. I'll keep you posted on what I'm planning and creating. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day, Lisa

Well you've got Hawaii, Texas (tacos), and Pennsylvania represented. You could do a 50 states for 50 years party! lol And an early happy birthday to your hubby. You two are a cute couple.

isn't there a champioinship f'ball game in Hawaii in the winter? if so, you could theme the state and f'ball game together w/Steelers being one of the teams. too, if someone (a guy usually) doesn't want to dress luau-like, he could come as a f'ball fan of either team. great ideas, have a blast. don't wait too long to get started - i usually DO and it takes a lot of fun out of it.
