Leaf Stamped Art

I saw something similar to this recently on Instagram and I knew I could replicate it with my own take on it. Of course it’s neutral, because that’s just how I roll😊

I started with a piece of scrap luan plywood. This piece is 11 by 19 inches.

I gave it a couple coats of white paint. I was just thinking 🤔 how cute it would be with a black background and white stamping too.

I then gathered some leaves.

I painted the back side because the veins are more prominent.

I then pressed it on the wood using a paper towel over the leaf to smooth it down.

I practiced first on a scrap just to be sure this would work, and it did!!

I think this would be a fun thing to do with kids too. You could bring it out every fall and enjoy the memories ❤️

I added an easy frame to it and I think it completes the piece. The frame is just pine ripped down and screwed together at the corners. I then placed the stamped wood on and stapled it to the back of the frame. I hope you enjoyed this fun fall project 🍁🍂

Paint looks thick. What type of paint did you use? Would heavy coat of spray paint work? Tempted to try with grandkids.

Did the leaves stay on the wood. She didn’t mention the step regarding placing them on the wood.

I like this not typical “fall” idea but very autumn looking (actually paint color and frame could dictate season, but I like black). I didn’t see mention, but I’m assuming a fresh green leaf would give best imprint. So simple with nice impact. Thanks for sharing
