Goodwill Table to Comfy Bench

This was my first big diy project. I needed a little extra seating in my apartment so I turned to Youtube for a little inspiration. I then went to Goodwill and found an old coffee table for $10, and headed over to another local thrift store and bought an unused curtain for $4. It is still one of my favorite projects - cheap, easy, and beautiful.

I found this very sturdy, yet slightly worn coffee table at Goodwill for $10. After cleaning it thoroughly, I was ready to begin.
I ordered the wrong size mattress pad for my bed a while back and just kept it rolled up in the back of my closet for quite some time. I knew I would find a use for it someday! So I cut it into three pieces to make a cozy cusion for my bench.
I ran to a local thrift store and found this unused curtain in excellent condition and I thought the simple color and texture of it would make a great seat cover.
Once I washed and ironed the curtain, it was ready to be put in place. I turned the table upside down and pulled the material around the edges of the table, as tight as I could, and began stapling.
It was a perfect window bench in my cozy apartment! Now it's a perfect bedroom bench in our new home. Either way, it's cute and comfy and little Les loves it!
