Changing drop ceiling fan to hugger fan
-
Tim Niekerk on Nov 30, 2015Typically one would switch off the light/fan circuit, remove the fan from the ceiling by removing the screws, and disconnecting the wiring. There is usually a hook on the ceiling mounting plate to hang the fan while you disconnect. Then remove the rod. The mounting device then is bolted to the fan motor housing. I have done this to all my room fans as I prefer the look and it removes the fan wobble.Helpful Reply

Diane Arnold on Dec 01, 2015If it is made where it is not capable to change, or more work than you want to spend on it, you can change it out and use it elsewhere. The prices have really come down on these. Just a thought. Happy fixing. :)Helpful Reply
