Hanging Mason Jar Succulents

I'm getting ready for summer and this project was a great way to bring the green indoors with a little bit of the beach too. ...»

Here's what you need:

Hanging Mason Jar (you can find the tutorial to create these on the link below)

Tiny Seashells

Potting Soil (I used one made for palms and cactus)

Succulents

I used the mini seashells as my base layer. Succulents don't like to sit in water, so you want something at the base to drain into... I thought with summer coming shells would be perfect!

Next a layer of potting soil.

Finish with your choice of succulents. I scored a 4 pack on Lowes clearance for only $1.

Lightly water about once a week, unless it's in a really warm space.

Summer'ize Your Terracotta Pots ~ Just Add Shells

I love seashells... love them! This is a fun & easy project to update your terracotta pots for summer. ...»

You just need terracotta pots, shells and your trusty glue gun.

I started by gluing the larger shells around the rim and then filled in the open spaces with smaller shells.

Such a fun update for your patio!

Burlap'ified Bookshelves

Our family room bookshelves were looking a little boring. I thought about painting the backs of the bookshelves but then I came up with this much easier idea. ...»

Why not put some burlap on the back of the bookshelves!

I used a 12" wide roll of burlap and a staple gun.

I stapled the burlap to the backing of the bookshelves (trying to place the staples behind the shelves to hide them.

This was much easier and quicker than painting would have been!

I love the texture it gives!

I love the texture combo on these pillows I made with burlap and velvet. I printed the wording on the burlap and sewed up these simple pillows. I'm no sewing expert, so these cuties are easy to make.
