Recycle that old wooden fence for next to nothing.

My better half got tired of listening to me complain about replacing our old wooden fence. I wanted a brand new fence but of course who has that kind of money right now? My genius husband ...»
got me a new fence for about $200. The power washer you can rent for about $50 dollars a day. The real expense is labor and he protected the wood with a protective coating of shellac (?).

Shellac is not such a great finish for outdoor stuff. I've been using the penetrating oil ...»
finishes from Penofin...for over 15 years. In addition to their great line of products they also have cleaners and brighteners that can help with what your husband did with the power washer.

Repurposed Roller Skate Truck #6: Vintage Diecast Ertl Bread Pan Truck

I started this one-of-a-kind creation with a beatup vintage Ertl diecast truck cab. I modified it a great bit to fit the vintage bread pan baker's mold. The rest of the parts include ...»
vintage Singer Sewing Machine yardsticks, a vintage garden faucet handle, an old drawer pull handle, a vintage Chicago brand roller skate bottom, copper tubing and LOTS more!

It can be used as a table centerpiece, a desk organizer, a candy bowl/dish, or anything else you can imagine!

Here are the measurements...

Height: 8.25"; Width (side to side): 5.5"; Bird Feeder housing depth: 21".

8 Paneled Door Headboard

Who finds a solid wood 8 paneled door on the side of the road? Me, me, me! It had layers of paint on it and was a beast to strip but in the end I have a gorgeous headboard in masters ...»
bedroom. I just added some crown molding to the top to finish it off.

Gardening in the NE Florida rainy season.

This is a 2009 pic of me in the garden during the rainy season. With Tropical Storm Debbie upon NE Florida, gardening becomes quite a challenge.

Our "Toy Garden"!

My neighbor and I call this our "Toy Garden". We spend day after day walking the beach for sea glass and unique shells. After noticing all the beach toys, flip flops, plastic and trash ...»
left littering our beaches, we started bringing extra bags with us and picked up as much as we could find and carry in one trip. Not knowing what to do with all the colorful toys and flip flops, we decided to build a Toy Wall and one thing led to another! We love our place so much and so does everyone who comes over to visit. It's such a happy, colorful place now that we have painted all the chairs!
