I have been "junking" since I was about 12 years old. Growing up, we lived adjacent to a horse farm and way in the back down the hill, they had a dump. Not the kind of icky landfill or trash dump you see today....this dump had good stuff.... I was always dragging something home; jewelry, bottles, metal signs all kinds of treasures! I still have a piece of that jewelry, 30 something years later! Being crafty runs in my family. Both my mother and grandmother were artists and they loved to paint pictures (have a few of those too). My mother also makes dolls and is a quilter. My sister is a photographer and teaches knitting and crocheting classes. My father was always dabbling in either photography, leather tooling or woodwork. Harboring all these genes...how can you NOT be crafty?! For the past 25 years my husband & I have been infected with the auction, flea market & yard sale bug purchasing and lovingly re-purpose, re-invent, revise and re-sell all kinds of creations.
