I am passionate about home design and all things color and texture! I opened my own home decorating business a year and a half ago and I absolutely love it.

Favorite area of home improvement:

A fresh coat of paint can do wonders!

  • I nearly painted the top at first. I'm glad I didn't. Love the woodsy warm look!

  • The framework was worked out so the desk had productive space underneath for the chair and rolling files.

  • Naturally a little bit of repurposing had to come into play somewhere. :)

  • The coke crate is perfect for pens and such. There are other repurposed office ideas in the reveal as well.

My $3.00 farm table styled pallet desk

Desiring a substantial desk for my work office located in my basement, this long farm table styled desk was created with pallet boards and reclaimed cedar planks for about $3.00. (had to ...»
buy new screws!)

It is one LONG amazing desk that's as sturdy as all get out! Cat likes it too. :)

what a little can of spray paint can do!!

I've had this desk sitting in my garage for about...hmm 7 years!!! I finally dusted it off, applied some tinted primer and sprayed it charcoal gray. I replaced the knobs with larger, ...»
metallic silver spray- painted knobs to give it a more contemporary I'm happy with the results : )

thanks guys! Bernice, plenty of knee room but , unfortunately, not enough for a computer ...»
tower, Marcy, I did get new wooden, bigger knobs that I spray painted a metallic silver. Overall, is a nice little desk that will be great in my daughter's room after I use to stage a home in the up coming Parade of Homes here in Utah! You can visit my page on Facebook under Kaza Design, LLC for updates on that project. I have also done some chairs that I will be posting pictures of later. (wouldn't mind it if you like my page too : )

  • All the rustic bling makes for a fun focal point in the backyard. The white planter box use to be a firetruck parts crate. A couple pallets offer a front step and side walkway. A rusty old vintage headboard became a gate. 9
  • The before. The lovely cow mural was hand painted by a friend, which now is safely in storage until it lands a new location. 4
  • Odds and sods were used to create a door. The wreath is made from canning jar lids. 6
  • Junky relics chime in well with bright red geraniums. 2

A rustic shed made from reclaimed lumber

A little green house in my backyard received a facelift. The plastic was replaced with repurposed fencing boards captured from another's burn pile, a few barn windows, then the decorating ...»
began. Junky relics were added to create a fun focal point which now houses firewood.

This shed is part of a 4 part series showing the entire build. Lots more to see!

  • Windows in Nursery 2

Design & Décor: We have 3 windows & are unsure how to decorate them for our nursery. One valance w/ sheers? Separated? Panels?

HELP!!! Please suggest some (visual) options for us. We'd like to showcase the windows, rather than cover them up. But with the different sizes, we are having a dilemma.

Thanks so much in advance!

as an interior decorator, I agree with DLD interiors. Ceiling to floor window treatments is ...»
your best option. A nice pattern will accentuate the nice windows you have rather than hide them.

FIND OF THE WEEK - Which fabric?

We found these beautiful vintage chairs and I am so thrilled. I've been looking for the right fabric for the chairs and I shortlisted 4 of my best fabric finds.

My favorite is A - Angel Wings!

Which one is yours?
