My Master Bedroom!

I stenciled the entire ceiling, turned a brass light fixture into a chandelier, and put the title of "our song" by our bed.

  • I had just repainted my bathroom and a friend suggested I look at this site to revamp my large bathroom mirror. This is my before picture.
  • This is my completed picture, without stain. $163.00 in all and so far about 6 hours with myself and my brother, both novices in carpentry. 3
  • Left Vanity.
  • Right Vanity.
  • This was befor crown moulding and base moulding. I had yet to adhere the framing around the mirror. 2
  • First coat of stain. 1
  • Stained to match the below cabinets. Still have to steel wool, apply another coat of stain, steel wool again, and then one coat of satin finish polyurethane. 3

I used this idea and revamped my large bathroom mirror this weekend. Here are my photos.

  • Cut PEX to allow condensate to drain, and blew out drain pipe before reconnecting.

Furnace not working.

It is about -20 F and feels like -34 (according to the weather channel) and I have two small children getting cold!

I called the Tin Shop and the guy was booked. I explained my problem, and he said "sounds like a condensate drainage issue". So, I was trying to figure it out. My furnace has a PEX line running into the concrete floor in the basement, and it LOOKED like it might have been backed up with water. So checking on my system, ...»

it looks like I can just cut the PEX. as seen in the picture. I had to blow on the pipe to clear it out and I think there was fungal/bacterial buildup. I poured a bit of bleach into the pipe to help prevent future buildup. Then I just removed the remaining pex from the fixture and refit the pipe back on. Since there is no pressure in this system I don't even need a new fitting, just left the pex attached. Furnace fired right up and house warmed right up!!

Gardening: Is this Black Spot on my Hellebores? Help?

I am about to cry. I had found a single flower on my hellebores last week and this morning, I thought I would check to see how it was coming along and if I got any new sprouts. Well, to ...»
my horror, the leaves on almost all of my hellebores are turning black. What could be causing this?? Needless to say, I see no blooms at all now. We had lots and lots of rain over the past few days and my yard doesn't drain very well. Could that have attributed? This is one of my favorite plants and I don't want to lose them. Erica? Rose? Walter? Four Seasons? Anybody. Help?
