  • Build a simple firepit with pavers and a firebowl. We got our firebowl from Lowe's for less than $80.
  • Stack pavers on level ground. We put ours on our concrete patio.
  • For a 35" firebowl we used 48 pavers and stacked them 4 layers high.
  • Easy to move if needed, simple and inexpensive! 1

How to Build A Firepit

We built this simple firepit at the end of the summer and it only takes 30 minutes to put it together!

Concrete Cobblestone Path

We wanted to find something unique to use for our pathway and patio. We couldn't find anything we really liked. When I came across this concrete form from Lowes I was so excited. Not ...»
only does it look great but it was very cost effective.

  • See how I created my backyard water feature for a fraction of the price of hiring a landscaper. I saved thousands of dollars and couldn't be happier with how it turned out!
  • You can see, in the before photo, the small area that needed attention was surrounded by a walkway and patio. 1
  • Once we were happy with the fit, we placed sand in the bottom to help level it and to fill any of the gaps between the soil and the form. We also made sure the pond was completely level.
  • Moved tubing around to get the right water flow.
  • Backfilled stone wall for plants.
  • Used a couple of different types of stone.
  • All Finished

  • We built a deck around our above ground pool and made out own bench. Using outdoor fabrics and a few things we already had we made it a cozy spot to sit and watch the kids swim! 2
  • I monogrammed a few pillows for fun. Since I have an etsy shop and do my own monogramming, I loved coming up with my own ideas for the pillows!

Make your own outdoor furniture

We had a spot that I just couldn't find the right furniture for, so I thought, "Why not make my own?!" We went to Pottery Barn for inspiration, but the prices were way out of our range. ...»

We had a bunch of scraps from other projects so we gathered them up and build the bench ourselves. I bought foam for the seats with a 50% coupon and made them myself. After just 2 weekends of work I was sitting by the pool enjoying the shade under the big tree.
