This table was headed for the dumpster when I rescued it!

  • I purchased 2 branches of silk cherry blossoms, and cut the stems off with wire snips.
  • After using floral tape and bending my stems a little. I was able to make a wreath. I also added extra blossoms to cover the floral tape.

My DIY Cherry Blossom Wreath

Do you ever picture something and look everywhere, but it nowhere to be found?? I couldn't find a small wreath that I liked and wouldn't could a lot. So, I made my own... I got what I wanted at a fraction of the cost!!

  • I found these fabric covered chipboards at Michael's. (In the $2 section) Using pink paint and my stenciling I spelled Mom
  • Using twine, book pages, and a hole punch I strung my book pages and chipboard letters together to make my Mothers Day Book Page Garland.
  • The Book Page Garland looks perfect along with pictures of my mom, grandmothers and great-grandmothers.

  • Put some plastic in the bottom of your pot to keep it from leaking, then some rocks, then planting mix or a mix of dirt and sand. Then if you want to put polished stones or something on top, before you put the plants in.
  • To root your plant, make sure the bottom of the "blossom" is in the water. As shown in the picture above. Check your vessel often to be sure the plant is reaching the water. Also allow them get some natural light.
  • For my last tip. Did you know if the petals break off, you can place them in moist soil and they will begin to root? Once again, just keep them in a moist soil with some light. This pot is outside on my porch. 1

  • I couldn't get the right lighting for this chalkboard and planter on my front porch, so I used my old door photo prop on the back porch where the lighting was much better!
  • The old door I use is stained on one side and painted white on the other!
  • I've used it to get some great close-ups!

  • The finished project with rope detailing and a few beach-y accessories.
  • I drilled holes along the frame and "stitched" clothes line rope around it, leaving space at the top for a decorative knot.
  • For detail at the top of the frame, I tied a mast head knot mat and attached it with glue and staples..
  • The mirror shelf before.
  • Beach-themed accessories complete the look: Palm leaf frame, starfish vase cuff, and "Sandy Toes" sign I printed onto drop cloth fabric.
  • I'm loving how this turned out. What do you think? :)
