New York City pond and water wall project

We are winterizing this pond and water wall feature in Manhattan today. This was a really fun project because we got to design and build it the best way possible.

Christmas Mantel

My Christmas mantel follows my Santa's Belt theme, coordinating with my tree. I've used garland filled with berries, holly leaves, eucalyptus, ornaments and ribbon to showcase my Ho Ho Ho sign.

Homemade dog shampoo

Make your own dog shampoo that is better for your dog and inexpensive! These are the three main ingredients: 1) 1 cup generic brand uncolored antibacterial liquid hand soap 2) 1/4 cup glycerin (found in the pharmacy section near the rubbing alcohol) 3) 1 cup white vinegar. Mix all ingredients in two quarts of warm water (I use an empty apple juice bottle) and pour it over your dog. I still use baby shampoo for her face and do not get this mix in her eyes or ears. It pours on, soaks in, ...»

install one of those doggie doors that work with a radio transmiter collar. That way, unless the animal is wearing one of the collars, it can't gain entry through the doggie door. I've a friend who installed a regular doggie door for her cats to use and ended up with an entire family of raccoons in her master bedroom to greet her as she got out of the shower. If you can imagine her with towels wrapped around body and head, coming into the room to find 2 raccoons on the bed while the other 2 are exploring her room. I laughed my butt off when I heard her describe the scene.
