Gardening: I planted 2 tomato plants and 2 cucumber plants by the side of the house.

All 4 plants had flowered but I only got 1 cucumber and 1 tomato . The few other tomatoes that did grow had developed a dark ring on the bottom of the fruit. ...»

I had fertilized the plants watered them and the location receives about 6-8 hours of direct sun.

what could be the problem?

I had earthboxes with tomatoes and cumumbers this year. The cucumbers produced non stop. The ...»
tomatoes produced but not as well as before. I used 2 tomatoe plants in the earthboxes. One of them got the blossom rot also. I was able to get some tomatoes from the plant but not as much as in previous times. The earthbox is self contained and all I have to do each day is add water. I hope next year you will be able to produce better crops. I noticed that there have been many bees around lately especially when it got hotter this past week. I had them all over my roses and lantanas.
