Thanks Acorn. I have to admit, I am very lucky to have a friend who has a degree in landscape ...»
architecture. His tips were priceless. Still I needed to learn a lot. I found a water lily that actually makes it through the harsh winters here in Ouray, CO. I have to lower them to the deepest part of the pond during the winter month, then raise them close to the surface in spring. Rebuild the waterfall several times too before it worked correctly and learned what plants are not going to be eaten by deer or being preserved by putting plants around it that deer do not touch. Lavender works real great for that and so a daisies. Now my stargazer lilies remain untouched.

I know what it is to work outside and also to install a pond. I dug a pond in the Colorado ...»
Rocky;s all by hand and it holds approximately 1200 gallons of water. To establish plants and make it look great it took me another 3 years and all this work is very rewarding to me. Did I ever experiment! Waterfall as planed didn't work, so trying to lift more heave rocks with crowbars and hands and build one that would work. But I like challenges and I like creating things. You have done a wonderful job and I wished I didn't live at 8758 feet above see level because I can't grow all the plants I would like to grow inside and outside the pond.

Hello Pam, I am sorry not having responded right away. I bought prepasted wallpaper at Berlin ...»
Wallpaper online. This paper is called illusion wallpaper. They offer a variety of stone and marble looking wallpaper.

What I did is sand the old counter top with fine sandpaper first. Then clean it super good. I ripped the wallpaper into small pieces and simply dipped it into water, then I glued it to the counter top. Using a squeetchy to remove the excess glue beneath and a sponge to wipe the glue off. The pieces are overlapping. After it dried I use 5 coats of water based polyurethane floor finished. The instructions are on the can. I have this counter top now for over a year and it still looks like new.
