  • I gave the tops of the painter tarps a pocket so I could easily slide the pipe through.I sewed a hem on the bottom of the painter tarps based on the height of the pergola.
  • I spray painted pipes purchased at home depot for a cheap alternative
  • This is how we secured them to the house.
  • We can block the direction of the sun from any direction.  On a side note, I might have added something on the bottom hem to weigh them down so they don't blow when it is windy.

  • Have a plate of epsom salt and a plate of glue ready. (I used Elmer's)
  • Paint the glue on the egg.
  • Roll it in the salt and let them dry.
  • Doesn't get any easier!

  • I took a chopstick (a pencil would work fine) and poked holes.
  • I Inserted the greens into each hole.  I had a hard time keeping a few of them in place so I put a dab of hot glue on the end before inserting.
  • Keep going until you get to the top and have them stick straight up for height.
  • I placed them on top of two pots and voila, simple, spring tablescape.

  • Painted the back of shelves with annie sloan chalk paint
  • Second I painted on a coat of oil based primer followed by two coats of 
Swiss coffee in latex semi gloss.
  • I then Buffed out drips and added a third coat in certain areas where needed.
  • Decorated with items I had around the house.

Step by step directions using a old frame and hardware to conceal a protruding object on the wall. (We converted part of our garage into a office/mudroom so we decided to hide the garage door opener since we don't use it)

  • Start off by tracing a heart on some heavy weight card-stock .  If you are going to be placing the heart in a frame, make sure the paper is cut to the correct size.
  • Grab all of your corks and start hot gluing.
  • Paint the tops
  • Place in a frame and enjoy!

The Best of 2012

  • I brushed on 1 coat of oil based primer
  • Spray painted 3 coats of black semi gloss paint.
  • Sealed it with a coat of Helmsman® Spar Urethane since it is specially formulated  for exterior or interior wood that is exposed to sunlight.  Enjoy your new piece of furniture!
