About Me:

While I would love to live in a "real" house, I dont. Mobile Home is what we have, an old one, but I love decorating sites, hgtv, DIY, that makes me want to do things that can't be done here. I am also a cat freak...love 'em.

Favorite area of home improvement:

Interior everything, garden...

Repurposed glass

I am new on Hometalk. During the cold winter here in the Texas panhandle, I enjoy putting together glass that I find in thrift stores and at garage sales. Seeing all the creative ways ...»
people repurpose things on Pinterest and this site have inspired me to try my hand at it. I have had so much fun! You need to click on the pictures of some of these to see the whole piece.

However I am going to do this better next time. and I noticed , I do have them tilted but the stakes are tall enough you don't really see the faces from the street . so next time...maybe no tilt. mushrooms and flowers for the garden and yard

Bernice H , I finally got the glue (E6000) going. Why didn't anybody here warn me that once it starts flowing it just won't ...»
stop? lol I guess I'll let it dry and then try to pop it off the hardwood floor. You do have to put it on both pieces and let it get tacky then stick them together. It's a contact cement similiar to the adhesive used when laminating countertops.

  • The buttons etc are really grungy, I am afraid to dig too deeply , maybe I will damage something?

Cleaning & Organization: How to clean a land line telephone??????????

My GE button phone is very old and getting really grungy. I do clean it often with alcohol, but it seems I cant get into the little places, and I don't want to damage it by not knowing how to clean it well . Anyone know how to take it apart etc ? Oh, In anticipation of why don't I just get q new one, the newer ones don't have the quality tone wise, plus they have so many features I go crazy having to listen to hubs whine!

5 Ways to End the Tupperware Chaos

See if this Tupperware situation sounds familiar: Lots of round lids. Too many square containers. No properly stored food. Total chaos.

Using Tupperware (and its other-brand brothers) is an easy way to keep leftovers organized, but only if key plastic pieces quit disappearing! Instead of blaming the kitchen elves, create a Tupperware organization system. That way, you'll always have the right lid-container combination within arm's reach. Here are a few easy ...»

ways to control the mess:1. Get consistent. Nothing is worse than having ten circular lids when all you need is a square one! You may have to spend a little money up front to consolidate your Tupperware, but it's easier to keep track of everything if they're the same shape. Tip: While you're at it, invest in Tupperware that's mostly the same size. Mixing and matching will be way easier!

Glass Flower Garden Art

These are super easy to make. Just find a few new or old plates and stack with glue. I used plain glass paints and then painted them with glass paint. They make a great statement in your landscape.

How HIGH are the flowers from the ground? I also tilted mine up a little, and as high as they are, you don't get the full effect, so next ones will be straight on. unless they are very short, which then would need to be tilted. I AM SO ANXIOUS TO DO MORE, but I will have to wait a couple of weeks, however I will be on the look out for some neato dishes and candle holders in the meantime!
