About Me:

My name is Kim Harris/Lewschin (Kim L., Van Nuys, CA). I am a retired graphic artist/legal secretary....thank goodness!! There aren't many things that I DO NOT like to do. I'm an artist, avid gardener, love to build things & refurbish my house, renew old furniture, landscape, make 'beaded boxes' & jewelry, reading & writing - at this time , building my family tree....mostly all things!! I do detest okra & liver. I have 3 sons, all married - they have given me 14 grandchildren.....I LOVE my family! I live a very happy life with my husband of 18 years, enjoying everything that we possibly can. I have a deep love for animals, especially dogs. Not only are they man's best friend, but a dog will give one enduring, unselfish pure love.

Favorite area of home improvement:

I like all aspects of home & outdoor improvement, but at this moment, I'm heavily into gardening & landscaping.

Uggggh, it is time to trim palm trees so my neighbor is happy :). They all have seeds now, never before!

I have a ladder, and I have an electric device, (lol) trimmer, first thing in the morning will go after them. What are these big pods good for?

I intend to plant all the seeds in different planters to see what happens with them. If they succeed in growing, I'll keep a couple for myself & my husband will sell the rest at his yard sales! Perhaps you could try to dry them out & if it works, drill a fairly large hole in the front face of them, paint them in various colors of bright paints & decorate with....whatever! Hang them from your trees & use as bird feeders!! Experiment with them - you have absolutely nothing to loose!!

Hey, you have nothing to loose....I say go for it, if it works, you've saved yourself a ...»
bundle. I'm sort of in the same situation, but only with our driveway. My plan is to sledge hammer whats left of the existing driveway & install a pebble/gravel driveway myself! Having a new driveway installed professionally is just out of the question, financially.....and I have nothing to loose - it will fit right in with my plan to 'zero landscape' the front yard!
