$10 Washer & Dryer Makeover

After years of staring at my plain white appliances, I got bored. And when I get bored, I get a little crazy. So I decided to paint them with one $10 pint of Rustoleum enamel paint in ...»
Regal Red. It took three coats over a weekend, but they look amazing! I followed it up with some spray on poly to help protect it. It's been nearly a year and no chips yet. I used a silver paint pen to add my settings. What I should have done there was placed tracing paper over the knob prongs and meticulously copied my settings, because I left a lot out. Then I could have added a vinyl transfer or used a fine tip paint pen. I may scrape off the paint around the dials and redo it later down the line. Otherwise it was a cheap and easy update! Our mirror mosaic fence. We had a blast creating this. Amazing what can come from a broken mirror mishap.

Now here is a cool project that my friend Katie Cooper did.

This was an old cinder-block building that was used for storage. She added wood at the top and the gingerbread trim, put a french door from Habitat for Humanity. Put a $10 fan inside & made it her art studio.

  • This is the finished bench. The colors remind me of a gypsy wagon. I toiled over the colors for a year and finally was inspired by the color on a plastic tumbler. I took it to the lumber yard and they matched the color. 23

Create a flower planter from an old tire!

My future father-in-law came up with this brilliant idea over 20 years ago to cut and flip an old tire inside out and use it as a gorgeous planter! ...»

Beautiful color! Yeah, you can see these planters all over the States and curiously enough ...»
when my hubby and I were in Germany in the early 80's (83-85) we actually saw them there in the little town where we lived. I love them.

An Unknown Plant

Anyone have any idea what this plat is. The flowers are initially small, white, and profuse. As they get pollinated they turn yellow/orange. The fruit resembles a small green foot ball ...»
and has the flavor of an orange and a lemon combined. Yes they are apparently edible as I ate many this year and some last year as well. I have never seen these before but there are several in the woods around my house and I saw one up in Rome Georgia last year, but it didn't have any flowers or fruit on it. The birds just decimate this fruit when it is ripe. I got some pictures of it when it was winding down its flowering and hopefully someone can clue me in.

Thanks for any input.

I believe, from the pic I found in Wikipedia that it's a persimmon.
