Card Catalog-looking Jewelry Box - Ikea Moppe Hack

I've had the bigger version of the Ikea Moppe drawers on my dresser for ages. I used to use them for pens and pencils and scissors and such. Now I use them to hold my jewelry.

You see where this is going, yes?

My Moppe drawers stayed plain for years. I gave them a quick coat of chalk paint last year just to perk them up. But I've never been totally happy with them.

Until now. ...»

Using layers of distressed paint, I made my drawers into a chippy industrial-esque, card catalog-looking jewelry box!

  • The desk area stays so much neater with the addition of cabinet doors and baskets for organizing.
  • We took doors off of existing cabinets to have exposed shelving for dishes.
  • This set of cabinets was added, giving us ample storage space for small appliances.

Kitchen Renovation: Before & After

We recently renovated our very 1980's kitchen. It was a huge project including cabinets, lighting, floors, and countertops. I love the way it turned out and have been so happy cooking ...»

  • A foot and a half of rustic loveliness...
  • Aluminum corners and a decorative handle complete the look.

Aluminum Cornered Crate

This old crate is fashioned from the legs of an old saw horse, nails, drippy paint and all. I cut apart a loaf pan to use the corners and the joining wire to create eclectic details on this one of a kind crate
