Revamping Dated Shelves

These cool vintage Syroco shelves are fairly common at thrift shops...a little bit of paint and they go from dated to delish!

  • using a clean glass jar, apply removable adhesive labels of your choice (i used round labels from the office supply store)
  • turn your jar upside down to prevent paint overspray + apply several light coats
  • once dry, gently remove the labels
  • add a layer of glass floral beads or sand. this protects your surface from heat damage from a long-burning candle
  • i love the playfulness of the dotted design 1
  • but he's even prettier as the sun sets! 1

  • Ikea Billy bookcases turned into built in unit.
  • We slid the four bookcases into place and surrounded it with trim to build it in.
  • A thick crown molding added the final touch.
  • All gussied up with storage boxes and containers for my craft supplies

Built in bookcases

I used four Billy bookcases (with extenders) from Ikea to install a wall of built in bookcases for my craft room. For a few hundred dollars, we have a custom look!

  • I use sedum also because it stays nice and green, tolerates the heat and comes back each year for FREE!

Pink Polka-dot Table

My friend was throwing out this table and I decided to rescue it from her curb. It needed cracks repaired and the leg tightened but it had good bones. I painted the bottom with DIY pink ...»
chalkpaint. Next I painted the top black and applied round stickers to the top. I then repainted the top with white chalkpaint and once dried removed the stickers. I coated it in clear wax and repainted the original hardware black.
