I have only great things to say about Tim. He was prompt to reply to my inquiry online, He came the same day to do the work. He was careful to navigate around my plants to avoid damage. He provided guidance to amend the soil with the addition of the newly chipped mulch to my beds. ...»
His clean up was thorough. Price very reasonable for the work that was done. Real nice guy and considerate of my property. Thumbs up for sure.

Amy, I don't about that type, but mushrooms flourish in a nitrogen deprived environment. The ...»
wood chips and mulch absorb nitrogen to decompose. So that area probably has very low nitrogen. You can add some 27-3-3 or 30-0-0 to the area and see if that will discourage growth.

could put in a water feature? Well see the latest event at this site. I have Phallus ravenelii's popping up all over. These Stinkhorns have become the subject of many jokes in our family. From what I've researched, in Southwest China, once the slimy foul end of the "bamboo fungus" is removed, they're eaten. I understand that they are hard to get rid of. I read that Clorox is used. Can someone help me remedy this prolific crop? Who knows, maybe there is a market for them here in the states, and I'm looking at this all wrong.

Painted On Front Porch Rug

Our front porch really needs to be rebuilt but in the meanwhile (while we save up) I gave it a facelift with some wood glue, caulk, and paint. The best part: A porch rug that I painted right on the top landing.

I'm new to this site, and decided to post pictures of the things that keep me busy .

I like to garden and love repurposing "anything", like the compass you'll see here that I made from an old concrete septic tank cover. Pics that follow are some of my outdoor projects: ...»
made a bottle tree, a fish pond, grew and dried birdhouse gourds, made raised gardens, painted an old bench, painted rug onto my deck, harvested 40' bamboo, cured them and made a trellis, made a peaceful walking/sitting area in the woods out back. I'm a DYI'er that began as a financial necessity and grew into a passion.......By the way, if you haven't talked to the great people at Four Season Nursery yet, or shopped for mulch, gravel and plants, you're missing an opportunity. They are knowledgeable and dependable. My husband just smiles at me and hates to leave me the truck...he knows I'm going there for a load of something.

Nursery. It's an annual......but I wintered it in my house and placed it outside again when the weather permitted and it's doing great. For the bottle trees, I'd stick with bottles rather than vases. You can always find them on ebay or craigslist. I'm also lucky enough to have wine drinkers in the neighborhood. I drive BIG nails in, to hold the bottles. Good Luck, have fun.

trees. While I was there, I took pictures of some of the branch ends. Can you name all four below?

It's trickier than it looks! The contest ends Sunday at midnight and Hometalk will randomly choose the three winners from all correct answers. Happy holidays!

Ok- I am turning my old irrigation supply room into a fountain display area. Suggestion on wall covering?

How to clean or paint the metal shelving and or boards? (We sustained damage to the room last November from a tornado and put this on the back burner to do)

I stopped in to buy 57 stone on the weekend and peaked in at the room. Great progress already.

This is an installation we designed and installed a while back.

(We did not install the pool or do the rock work on the house and pool.) The pavers go through the portico and to back parking deck with a paver access for golf cart to the pool area as well.
