This family has 3 very young children. They wanted a pool but did not feel comfortable with the safety of a pool with their young children. They decided on a fun, beautiful safe pondless
waterfall and stream. The word "pondless" means that the reservoir for the water is underground where it is safe. The 4' high by 8' wide waterfall spills into a large landing area, and then travels down a narrow stream, around side of a lounging patio, and disappears behind evergreens into our pondless reservoir. This water feature gets winterized in December and starts up again in March. Every spring we come in to spruce up the plantings, adding perennials, annuals and mulch. www.deckandpatio.com
I was having trouble keeping the clutter minimized on my counter and finding an organized way to do menu planning. After browsing around a few different ideas I created this menu planning / command center for my kitchen. Now everything is in one neat, organized location.
This post is not for the faint of heart. It was a grueling process that took about 12 hours to complete. But, it was worth it to us because we got this Pottery Barn Outdoor Sectional in a
trade. We painted the weathered frame with Stain and Seal from Faux FX. The cushions were cleaned by spraying a solution of 75% bleach and 25% water on the cushions. Then they were cleaned with Fels-Naptha soap. The result is a "like-new" sofa. For complete details and more photos check out our blog: http://bella-tucker.com/2013/05/how-to-rehab...
The worst thing in the world for both you and your pet is getting sprayed by a skunk. The smell makes you gag, it lingers FOREVER and the poor animal is banished from your presence. This recipe works, I've used it and it takes that awful smell right away. For large pets you might want to double this recipe. This recipe can be used on humans too.
16 oz 3% hydrogen peroxide (make sure it's fresh!)
Mix ingredients in an open container and use immediately. Don't wet the fur with water first and do NOT get this mixture in the eyes. A rag should be used to apply the solution around the pet's face. Be sure to saturate the areas that got direct hits (you'll know by how strong it smells). Leave it on for five minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Then repeat the process. By the end of the second shampoo, the smell should be gone. If not, repeat again.
As long as you wash with this within 4 hours of being sprayed, it will work. Longer than 4 hours and you're hooped! The oils in skunk spray will have absorbed and you're stuck with that smell.
Do not ever store this recipe, the chemicals will react and cause the closed container to explode.
Good luck and I hope you never need this recipe!
ps Jeanine made some very good points in the comments on this post - be sure to use a conditioner after using this process, do NOT leave the solution on for more than 5 minutes at a time!! please skip down to her comments for the rest.
