Rustic Holiday Decor ( Part 3)

This is the final post for my Rustic Holiday Decor Series, but this one is with a Shabby Chic twist! I re-pop'd a mason jar into wall art, made a burlap lamp shade out of a hanging ...»
basket, and fell in love with a forgotten ball of red yarn. So many more cute little elements to this easy guest bathroom make-over and to see the other 2 posts in the series....follow the link ;) Happy Holidays!

How to Make a Headboard Out of a Mantel

When remodeling our Master Bedroom earlier this year, we knew we wanted to break up the traditional bedroom suite and go for a more unique style of headboard. One that had classic bones ...»
and a commanding presence. The answer was an old recycled mantel! We found it on CraigsList for $50, filled in the middle with plywood, covered the plywood with a draped twin sheet, added some wooden block "feet", and gave it some TLC and a fresh coat of paint. We couldn't be more pleased! To read more about the process, visit: http://kristinsveranda.com/vignettes/2012/03...

Staining your concrete patio to look like tile.

I was so pleased with the DIY project on our back patio! I stained the concrete to look like tile. We used painter's tape to create the look of grout lines, and we used a concrete stain from Lowe's to stain the concrete. For a step by step tutorial, just click on the link below.

Nursery I painted for Atlanta designer Dawn Kines in Nashville. This tree is now available as a decal at my website.

The stunning color combination selected by Dawn and the black silhouettes and furniture makes for a very whimsical and dramatic nursery. We loved the initials hanging from the branch. ...»
This room should stay relevant for many years and is very gender neutral. My tree is now available as a decal at my website in 36 different colors so the sky is the limit as far as variations on this theme.

Does anyone know how to clean a crystal chandelier?

I have an electrician coming to hang it & I want to clean it while it is eye level. It has been in storage for 4 years.
