Preheat oven to 425. Slice the potatoes thinly. Toss them in a tbsp or so of olive oil - I ...»
never measure. Sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake for 10 minutes. Turn them over with a spatula. Bake another 10 minutes or until they brown a bit. They are great spinkled with cinnamon and brown sugar and then baked or sprinkle cumin and chili powder or cayenne pepper on them. So versatile! Our potatoes are very sweet, btw. We're so happy with them!

DIY Bottle Tree

Yep, that's a 10 foot tall tree made out of different diameters of steel round rod complete with colored bottles my mom collected from friends and a few she purchased from the internet. ...»
She estimates that it cost about $300 for materials. $150 for the metal and $150 for the colored bottles. Lots more about my mom's DIY bottle tree (and where the bottle tree tradition came from) on the ol' blog. #SummerStyle

Sunflowers make make me smile!

Found it interesting that the flowers under the window didn't grow up past it, but the ones to the right did...! (Worked out well because my husband was concerned they would block the view from the bedroom! Also notice the hand-made adirondack chairs my dad made for us!
