Our mirror mosaic fence. We had a blast creating this. Amazing what can come from a broken mirror mishap.

    I love this so much! I have worked with cutting ceramics and mirrors for art projects and it's ...»
    fairly easy to work with. I don't think I'll be able to do our fence, however, because we live in east Texas and the heat is so great that it would only magnify our 100's temps. I do want to try a small mosaic artwork w/water feature using mirrors. Thanks for this great idea, Cindy S.!

DIY weekend Laundry Room

My Laundry room is a walk through to my garage. I don't know about you but my laundry room always seems to be overflowing with clothes, it probably doesn't help that I HATE doing ...»
laundry. I needed storage and to maximize every inch of space. One Saturday my husband and I stacked our washer and dryer and started building using what we had in the garage. I couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Head over to my blog for more information! http://startathome.blogspot.com/2012/03/lau...

Tiny Condo Breakfast Room Makeover

I live in a tiny condo and have to make the most of every inch of space. I gave my breakfast room a makeover by taking full advantage of vertical space with additional storage, and then added lots and lots of color!

Found During Demo Part 2

We had so much fun with our original "Found During Demo" post that I had to ask if anyone can guess what these are? Found in a demo of a 1939 bathroom.

Modern Luxury Home in Arizona by Kendle Design Collaborative

The design of this home is a pragmatic response to an amazing yet challenging site. A narrow lot with 60' of vertical elevation combined with a restrictive Hillside Zoning Ordinance made ...»
designing a conventional home impossible. In response the home is divided by use;

1. Parents zone including master suite, primary family and entertainment functions

2. The teenager zone including bedrooms, game room, pool access and one of two garages

3. Guest zone including a bed/bath suite and small great room that doubles as the owner's home office.

These zones are stair stepped up the narrow site such that each zone has commanding views of the mountain which embraces them, the valley floor and the distant mountain ranges.
