how to make a rug with a dropcloth and paint

In an effort to gain the rug I wanted and not have to fork over big money I created my own with a dropcloth, paint, and kitchen sponges. ...»

To do:

1. Paint a base coat on the dropcloth.

2. cut kitchen sponges into stamps and apply.

3. seal with clear sealer.

I used geometric patterns to create an Aztec-inspired rug. And I love it!

  • The table can comfortably seat six w/o the leaf or 8 with the leaf. It looks great with the new plate wall my wife just finished. 1
  • We salvaged the rope molding and the rest of the apron and table legs from an old beat-up table. With a little wood filler, they looked good as new.
  • I stained the top with Rust-oleum's Early American and applied three coats of satin finish polyurethane.
  • The table apron was painted with #ASCP "Old White".

First Attempt

I have been making pallet planters and decided to attempt a table for my patio. Haven't stained it yet, but so far I am happy. Not perfect but it's mine and all it cost was a few screws :)

Create an Organized Baking Cabinet with Free Printable Labels.

My new year's resolution this year was to do more baking. My baking cabinet was a mess and got myself organized by creating pretty printable labels and I picked up some great canisters. I'm hoping this pretty cabinet will motivate you. I shared labels with or without text on my blog if you too are interested in getting organized.
