Gardening: Have 20% yr old boxwoods that are overgrown for the foundation area. Can these be cut back drastically to a few feet w/

only branches left? I've heard different opinions, some say they will die, others that they will sprout right back out. Help? Suggestions?

I like to follow the rule that, other than when rejuvenation pruning is needed, you don't cut ...»
back more than one-third of a plant at a time. As Ricardo says, it should be done methodically, with frequent steps back to take a look as you are doing so.

  • That drill/driver isn't big enough, I need more power! I don't think so Tim! These compact drill/drivers pack more of a punch than you might think. Check out what this real user thought: http://bit.ly/wZF0LT 4
  • Everyone dreams of owning a giant cabinet saw, but not everyone has the room or the budget (or loves their fingers too much). Check out what this user thought about something a little more accommodating: http://bit.ly/ArMdNV 12
  • Running out of room in your shop? This miter saw takes the space of a compound miter saw, yet still gets the cutting capacity of a sliding rail miter saw. Check out what this contractor thought: http://bit.ly/wz8Wdh 6

Gardening: Lost a large Bradford Pear and bed of ivy underneath it.

Would like to remove dead ivy and sod to match burmuda lawn surrounding it, Can you sod burmuda at this time? Also would like to add another ornamental, much smaller blooming tree in this area. Any recommendations?
