Home Maintenance & Repairs: Is there any way to prevent termites or at least make my home less inviting to them?

I have heard of placing cinnamon sticks and garlic cloves around the house to prevent ants, but what about termites? Has anyone tried anything that has been effective at warding off termites?

do your own cancer treatment would you. Homes need to be thouroughly inspected to determine proper treatment. We use a product called Termidor. the active ingredient is callled Fiprinol. which is the same ingredient that is in Advantage for fleas. When properly used it is very safe.
