Fun Rustic Beach Signs From Reclaimed Fence Wood

I collected a lot of fence wood from curbside when we lived in the Panhandle of Florida. Hurricanes play heck with fencing along with everything else. When we moved back to our home in ...»
Tennessee I loaded that fence wood and all my other junk finds into the moving truck just like it was precious furniture! It's almost all gone now. I made some beach signs with some of it and they turned out great. You can view all the details on my website post.

  • The finished project with rope detailing and a few beach-y accessories.
  • I drilled holes along the frame and "stitched" clothes line rope around it, leaving space at the top for a decorative knot.
  • For detail at the top of the frame, I tied a mast head knot mat and attached it with glue and staples..
  • The mirror shelf before.
  • Beach-themed accessories complete the look: Palm leaf frame, starfish vase cuff, and "Sandy Toes" sign I printed onto drop cloth fabric.
  • I'm loving how this turned out. What do you think? :)

  • Old deck boards, two ceiling fan blade holders 2 rail spikes and some paint 1
  • Old door, fence boards, table legs, two old screen window frames, left over electric fence wire (the large dragonflies) and two drawer pulls to hang your towels and tools on
  • An old door - some old trim and molding, an old screen and some fence boards! Voila! Using a screen for your potting table really helps when it comes to rinsing it off or collecting spilled soil or excess water 1
  • This was bits to an old deck

Adding a mudroom to our garage

In our previous home, we didn't have a nice laundry room. It was tiny and stuck in our master bedroom. To help sell our home, we decided to ad a laundry/mudroom inside our two car garage. ...»
It led into our kitchen. We also had a two car detached garage, so there was still plenty of room to park our cars.

We built a small room to hold our washer and dryer, and my husband also built a custom shoe storage bench and coat hangers. I LOVED the shoe storage bench. My four boys would lift up the bench seat and put their shoes in their "box." Best thing we ever did! Hope to do the same thing in our new house some day!

Want to know what to do with an old window and some fence boards?

#BeforeandAfter

First, you take some old discarded windows from a job site and distress, paint and ...»

distress some more to achieve the desired look. Then you get a family photo enlarged as an engineering print to fit the chosen window. Use cardstock and the Cricut to produce a long held family motto. Take some old fence boards and make a farmhouse looking shutter and put it all together! "Family is forever" is front and center in our kitchen to remind us everyday of what is truly important!

Wind Turbine Light Fixture

Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a vintage wind turbine fan turned into a light fixture, I made my own with supplies from Lowe's.
