My first pallet chair

Husband is working on a large construction site here in SC, so I have been getting a huge supply of pallets. So far I have built a deck for the RV, a small table and now a chair. I didn't have a pattern so I just winged it from photos of other chairs. Now that I have the basics down I am going to add a little more style to the next one.

  • Just to show you how well it works, here is an image where there is a weed still alive and the rest killed. I would like to say I did this on purpose to show you all how well it works but I actually missed this weed :) 1

Amazing weed killer made with items you will find in your kitchen! Really works

Ever since moving into my current house, I have struggled to keep our front walk weed free. We have 2 young kids (that seem to cringe at the site of shoes thus are always walking around ...»
without them) and a little dog, so I personally do not like to use Round up or other harsh weed killers on our property. To add to that, the city where we live has banned the majority of pesticides.

I got this frugal, yet extremely effective, way of killing weeds from my neighbor. He was out spraying his weeds a couple of weeks ago and I had to inquire what he was using because all I could smell was vinegar. I love that it is safer for my family and the environment. I also love the price! Using basic ingredients, pickling vinegar, dish soap and salt, you too can kill your weeds. Be warned though, it will kill grass so don't be trigger happy with you sprayer :)

DIY Palette Herb Garden

I had a empty boring garage wall that could really use something fun on it. I searched Pinterest for some ideas and I came up with a couple that I could modify. I decided on a Palette ...»
Herb Garden. I already had the palettes but a single palette was too big for my space. I had my hubby cut it into 4 pieces. I then painted them white and added hose clamps to place the herb pot in. I found some fun colorful pots and added my favorite herbs to them. I made some fun, colorful herb markers and added those. I no longer have a boring garage wall. To get step by step directions you can visit my blog at: http://www.secondchancetodream.com/2012/05/... and for directions and the printables for the herb markers you can go to:

French Made tin boxes

You can paint with acrylics (black and white to get a distressed look) and reuse different sizes tin boxes. ...»

Apply waterslide decal paper with desired graphic - I mainly use French graphics form The Graphics Fairy, they are absolutely gorgeous.

A Valentine's Day "Love" Suitcase

I love creating vignettes. This Valentine's Day vignette was inspired by my purchase of the "love" pillow at my friend's shop, The Tattered Angel. #ValentinesDay

Refurbish end table!

This table has been sanded and I used the stain to create the design on the top like using paint to fade and add dark areas! I think it came out pretty awesome lol.
