Why I decided to join hometalk, the Lifestyle!

I joined hometalk with the hope of spreading awareness to the water gardening world. I got into this industry because I built a pond at my home and fell in love with the lifestyle. My goals as a business owner are to share that lifestyle with as many people as possible! Sure building them here in New England is a wonderful way of spreading the joy, but the majority of the world does not know what a water feature is or what the lifestyle is all about. So the next best way for me to help ...»
people start down the right path is to share my knowledge and help people make the right product choices, and find educated artists to help them create their paradise. I only want people to enjoy the little piece of heaven i enjoy every morning with a cup of coffee or at night with the occasional beer. its the little things in life that make the biggest difference and if I can help people relax and get back in touch with nature then that makes me feel pretty good. so if you have any questions or need help getting pointed in the right direction let me know, don't be shy. the difference is water and once you get a taste you wont ever live without it! join the lifestyle!

Customer Photo Story

“Whether walking, wading, or swimming, I forget about everything else…..my senses are overcome by it’s tranquility. There’s something hypnotic about it, like staring into a ...»
bonfire”. – Rex

“It’s impossible to mention just one favorite thing about our pond…the peaceful sound of the waterfalls, the beauty that blends our garden into nature, the sound of the frogs that have made it home singing in the summer evenings, the multiple varieties of song birds that have decided it’s the best bird bath in the neighborhood or having the fish follow me as I walk the pond edges like puppies waiting for a treat. I guess I can sum it up by saying that I can’t imagine our yard without it!” – Marietta

Chalk paint meets Milk paint ....Fireplace mantle

I wanted to change my "Builders" fireplace mantle and give it a aged look.I first painted it with Annie Sloan Coco and highlighted it with Annie Sloan old white. After waxing I decided I did not like it and it needed a bit more chipping.I used "Old Fashioned brand" milk paint in buttermilk. This distressed it nicely and gave it the look I wanted.....Read more here:whitelacecottage.com

Faux "Succulent Garden" Made With Pistachio Shells

I love the look of vertical succulent gardens, but I have the very opposite of a green thumb, and purchasing that many succulents only to have them die would be quite costly. (Yes, I can ...»
actually kill succulents.) So I crafted my very own succulent garden out of pistachio shells. I'm pretty sure I can't kill this one. :)

Outdoor Kitchen and Pizza Oven

Last year we replaced our deck and a patio with a beautiful stone patio that created a better flow to the pool. Outdoor kitchens are all the rage these days and since we entertain a ...»
great deal, especially in the summer, it seemed to make sense to incorporate one into the new patio design. As we always seem to do, we took this project a step further. Since my husband is the chef in our family, it made sense that he should take the lead on the items he wanted in our new outdoor kitchen. Not to say I wasn't integrally involved...I was...but he is really the grill master. The plan called for us having a grill, warming drawer, side burner...all the regulars. What's not so regular...his idea of putting in an outdoor pizza oven. When he first brought up the idea, quite frankly I thought it was crazy. He was very excited about the idea and when our contractor heard the idea he was even more excited about building one. Over the past few years my husband has been coming up with unique recipes for pizzas grilled on the bar-b-que. It's become one of the staples at our gatherings around our pool. Well, the pizza oven is one of the best things we have ever added to our home. You can click on these links to get the step by step on how we created this outdoor oasis. http://diybydesign.blogspot.com/2010/10/outd..., http://diybydesign.blogspot.com/2010/12/pati...
