Plastic spoon pendant light

Get a plastic bottle, lots of plastic spoons, hot glue and lots of patience and you have a gorgeous lamp! I made this for our hallway! I love turning it on and off! The economy lamp we used does not emit heat to melt the spoons or bottle!

Free Repurposed Fence Board Counter Top

This is a project we just completed over the weekend. We being my hubby! :)

We had some old, timeworn, chippy aqua fence boards so we used them as a new counter top ...»

on the bar in our sun room, which is right off the kitchen. Not for everyone I'm sure... but this counter was vanilla laminate before, so it's an improvement to us.

  • A couple of clearanced hooks from Hobby Lobby. 1
  • I installed wire mesh into the window space and added this cross section so I would have a place to mount an old rake head for a tool rack. 2

Potting Bench

When we replaced the old front door on our 100 year old home, I couldn't bring myself to throw the old one away. This is how we transformed it into a potting bench with repurposed lumber ...»
and few new bits and pieces.

  • Paint your ceiling first, wrapping the corner. Take your ubiquitous 5-in-1's back edge and gently score a mark.

  • Just use the corner as the naturally flowing guide.
  • Using a 3 inch brush loaded with paint, just cover the line. 3
  • Viola, this little trick will make even a coffee lover's line look good.

  • This is a commission piece I did for a woman. This table was her grandmother's and the top was not in the best of shape. She wanted it painted white and told me to do any design I wanted out of pastel colors. When she came to look at it, she was overwhelmed because one of the dishes (unbeknownst to me) was some identical dishes that her grandmother had. 13
