Gardening: I'm planting a few cherry tomato plants, just for fun.

I know that I need something like a cage or strings for them to climb; will they do it themselves? will simply putting ia support in place do the trick or do I need to tie them on and continually keep them connected?

Tomatoes are not climbers, they don't have the "hooks" that other veggies like cucumbers do. ...»
They have to be tied to something, I discovered that tying them to a pole, living the plant airy(removing some branches for air flow), helps increase the production. It's more of maintainance work and it might not be nicest look, but it's worth it!
