Little Boy Book Nook with barn wood

When redoing my son's bedroom there was a corner that really was not being used to it's full potential. When I asked my hubby what we should do, he thought a ladder and platform for him ...»
to sit on and hang out would be cool. We used some old barn wood, a light and voila, a perfect spot to read books!

Painting the Claw Foot Tub

Painting a bathtub is easier than you think. I had painted the inside of my old claw foot tub a couple years ago using tub and sink paint. That stuff is smelly! It's held up great, ...»
though. Recently, I painted the outside with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Old White. I also painted a fleur de lis and stripe to give it a bit more character. U used Annie Sloan's Paris Grey paint. You can see the full project on my blog.

DIY Dutch Door: Turning a Hollow Core Door into a Dutch Door

See how I took a hollow-core door and made it into a dutch door. It works great as a "doggy gate" for my golden retriever, in a dark room in our house. I love how functional it makes this room now!

You've heard of a vanishing edge pool, have you seen a vanishing edge pond?

This vanishing edge pond is located on the north shore of Long Island in Eatons Neck NY. The beauty of vanishing edges is the illusion that water is just falling off the edge, additionally the pond reflects as well.

1960's Ranch Kitchen Makeover

The homeowners love to cook and entertain in their downtime, and the outdated kitchen in their 1960's ranch style home didn't blend with the modern, contemporary look in rest of their ...»
home. Traffic flow was poor because of the peninsula next to the sink, and a swinging door into the dining room next to the cooking area was awkward.

A window box at the sink was the first item they wanted eliminated in the new kitchen. Their primary goal was to have a sleek modern look in the cabinets and stainless appliances, and I feel that goal was accomplished.
