Homemade Chalk Paint Recipe

I've been using this recipe for making homemade chalk paint for several months now and I'm really pleased with the results. It gives a really nice finish on furniture projects with a minimal amount of prep. And it's thrifty too!

I thought I had shared it anyway !:) Sorry for my absence lately everyone. Just found out my ...»
neighbor has a substance abuse problem regarding illegal drugs in the last 2 days. She had recovered for 8 years. But when a so called friend of hers presented it in front of her she relapsed and started using again. Now she's been evicted because of it. She has to turn it around and only her. All U can do is listen and give them hugs and convince them they can do it again. You can't give them money, maybe a little food to keep them going. If you are able to, have them give you their acct. no's to pay for bills of prescriptions for blood presure meds or utilities. But no cash. So sorry to discuss this but it breaks my heart ! I want me some drug dealers in the worst way. I don't condone drug use but when someone is weak, and can't control the issue, it's the drug dealer itself and they don't care, they just want money. They are very friendly and make you think they are your best friends, players ! I sat on a jury for a drug dealers case. He had a rap sheet a mile long and I was raised around law enforcement. The officers I was raised around had more compassion for the user than for the dealer. It's heart breaking ! Sooo sorry to bring this up, but felt compelled to share it.

  • Use broken shovel handles as stems and enjoy the flowers as yard art. 2
  • Clean hubcaps with some and water, lightly sand to paint will adhere.
  • Spray paint hubcaps in fun colors. Use things you have to add interest (spray a plastic lid for the center of a flower, use tongue depressors for a design)

Hubcap Flower Yard Art

All you need to make some fun, inexpensive yard art are some roadside hubcaps, spray paint and little creativity. ...»

Steps:

1. Clean off hubcaps with soap and water, then lightly sand.

2. Spray paint each hubcap in a bright color.

3. Use things you already have to add stems (sticks, shovel handles), leaves and more details to the flowers.

4. Assemble the flowers and add them to your yard.

  • I finished up wrapping the pot with rope. I snipped the rope off with scissors, and secured it down with hot glue.
