Your studs need to be 'proud' of your concrete walls by at least and inch. ...»

insulate and moisture barrier, then sheetrock - google the 'how toos' of this type of project to avoid mold issues.

i'm a huge fan of corinan or any 'solid surface' brand. ...»

if you drop (set soemthing down hard) a dish on corian it is less likely to shatter but on concrete, quartz, or granite EVERYTHING breaks...not forgiving on your plates, glasses anything.

    Vigro Weed n Feed - about $9.50 a bottlw @ Home Depot. ...»

Kills wild onions, broadleaf weeds, make your grass SUPER green.

Dont spray on your shrubs or flowery beds.

Apply when the groud is wet and when it will not rain for about 4 days for best results.

What do you have in your kitchen now? ...»

If you drop a dish on a vinly or wood floor it may not break.

if you drop ANYTHING on tile (including PYREX) it will shatter.

tile is tuff on the knees if you are standing for sometime cooking or washing dishes.

I put hydraulic cement in a basement wall crack and it still leaks, although it has slowed down.

Should the hydraulic cement stop the leak completely? Should I re-do the patch?

water proof from the outside using tar and membrane products. ...»

This means you or a contractor will have to dig a DEEP hole to water proof the exterior side of your basement wall.

Outdoor Living: Our back deck needs work.

I am considering replacing the floor boards with either real wood (like we currently have) or the engineered wood. I have kids/dogs and i'm trying to limit maintenance and splinters.

On my deck I 'flpped' my deck boards to the NON weatherd side. ...»

Because the wood is pressure treated pine the underside was smooth like new.

They were dirty so I scrubbed the deck boards with bleach water, reinstalled and looks like I have a NEW deck. The used DECK SCREWS and not nails when I reinstalled.

The enginered deck boards are VERY expensive.
