  • After the paint had dried we added outdoor pillows for added comfort. We chose deep seated cushions for the bottom. 1
  • In the beginning we took an old headboard and began framing and building the base of the swing. 2
  • Once the swing was put together, we added chains and hung it from the porch awning. I painted it two coats of Annie Sloan's Duck Egg.

Back Porch Headboard Swing

I couldn't wait to have a swing of my own on our back porch. When I told my husband we needed to use one of the three headboards stored in the garage, he looked at me a little funny. ...»

  • Color for your Garden! Some of my favorites-Geranium, Petunia, Million Bells, Bacopa, and Sweet Pea. We have had a ton of rain in NJ--6 months worth in 30 days! My poor plants haven't seen much sun but they will fill in shortly!
  • This beautiful butterfly really likes the Lobelia hanging basket! He comes back daily! I haven't seen this type before! Oddly, he doesn't seem impressed with the Butterfly Bush across the yard! LOL 1
  • The Clematis on my mailbox is in great form this year--its more than doubled its size and has twice as many flowers too!
Just the way I imagined it would look when I planted it!

  • I painted the dresser with a few coats of light gray and painted the interior drawers black.
  • The handles were spray painted a glossy black.
  • The drawer on top was broken on three sides and had to be repaired with nails and wood glue.
